The CrossFit Open 2019 is underway with workout 20.1 just completed! One down, four more to go.

If you are new to CrossFit or looking to take part in the CrossFit Open this year, some quick facts – 2019 is the first year with 2 Opens. The first was in February and the current one is what will determine who goes to the 2020 Games.

Is the CrossFit Open only for athletes with ambitions to go to the CrossFit Games?

No. Participating in the Open is a good platform to test your fitness levels and scaling options are available for all workouts. If you’ve recently gotten into CrossFit and have been spending time practicing movements such as toes to bar, double unders and handstand push ups, this might be your opportunity to achieve them and other PRs. It is also a good time to battle it out with your buddies for gym pride, personal improvement and as a benchmark for how we have progressed.

What is the CrossFit Open all about?

5 workouts over 5 weeks. Each workout is released on Friday 8am Bali time and competitors have till Tuesday 8am Bali time to submit their scores.

How do I get involved in Bali?

Anyone over the age of 14 can compete in the CrossFit Open by signing up at games.crossfit.com and paying the $20 fee. If you are in Bali during the CrossFit Open, come on down to Fortitude Bali – Home of CrossFit Petitenget to get in your workout.

We are running these workouts in a class format on Saturdays at 9am and 11 am for the next 4 weeks. If you attend these classes, the coaches will brief you on the workout, the movement standards, warm you up and provide valuable strategies and insights into the workout.

You are also welcome to perform the workouts during our Open Gym time (7am – 7pm weekdays and 7am – 5pm on weekends). This can be done with your own judge or if one of our coaches is available, they will help you out.
